evaraina epudaina sariga gamanincharaa....."

"kanulu terichina kanulu moosina...."

These are the first songs of DsriP which made most of the telugu music fans realize him. We all started 'gamaninchadam' DsriP as how this 21 year old musician will do later on. What can we say more after listening to 'Nuvve Nuvve' song from Khadgam? He proved himself that tollywood is his 'Sontham'. This young music director knows the nerve of music buffs. He is talented yet disciplined & promising yet humble – Devi Sri Prasad the new musical wave.

Unlike his father Satya Murthy, famous script writer and singer for telugu movies DsriP chose to become a composer. Though born in Amalapuram he was brought up in Chennai. His father presented him with a small keyboard when he was in 7th standard and that changed his life. He used to spend most of his time experimenting with the keyboard both at school and at home. After realizing his interest towards keyboard his father joined him to learn mandolin under the guidance of Mandolin Srinivas. He learned mandolin under the guidance of Mandolin Srinivas for more than 10 years. His interest towards music did not hinder his education and participation at school. He served as cultural secretary and SPL; he was even awarded the best out going student award at his school. He also got several prizes in dance competitions along with light music at school. He studied up to BBA.

He started his career by scoring music to a serial "50-50" in Gemini TV. He also sang the title song for that serial. He contributed his voice to songs in "Veerudu, Anaganaga O Ammayi & Prema Kosam". After that he recorded a music album for Magna Sounds named ‘Dance Party’ in tamil which became a super hit with a song ‘Ey Unnoda’. Then one fine day M.S.Raju, who visits DsriP’s house often for discussions with his father, came to know about the 50-50 and magna sound and gave a song to DsriP and asked him to compose tune for it right then. M.S.Raju liked the composition and immediately offered him music direction of his ongoing film Devi. That’s how he made his entrance into tollywood. After that he did ‘Navvuthu Bathakaali raa’ in telugu. Later on he did another album for Magna Sound named ‘Mr.Devi’ both in telugu and tamil which also became a super hit. Following this he composed music for "Anandam for Ushakiran movies which became a musical hit. He composed music for ‘Sontham, Thottigang, Khadgam & Manmadhudu’ which were all very successful audios and out of which ‘Khadgam’ became a super hit.

He says it was not difficult for him to enter the industry as his father is a famous writer. However he feels that its is own skills that would make him successful and recognizable.

Story and director are his main criteria to accept a film. He says Telugu Film industry is very challenging and you can achieve anything with determination. He hates the fact that no one cares until one is successful even if he is talented He also hates that confidence is considered as arrogance in the industry and lack of time they get to do their work.

Among singers he likes Balu, Udit Narayan, Shan, Hariharan and Janaki. Sirivennela and Vairi Muttu are his favourite lyricists. Ilayaraja is his favorite musician. He says everyone will listen to Ilayaraja’s and Rahman’s music irrespective of if it’s a hit or not. They listen to find out how they did it. DSriP wants to see himself in that position.

Let's all wish DsriP in achieving his goals.
