Sangeetha

Heroine Sangeetha, after Khadgam, became quite busy with projects getting lined up.
Though she acted in few movies before Khadgam, it's
Khadgam that got her the name. She acted as a village girl who dreams of the colorful film industry and becomes victim
to shady aspects of the film industry. Following Khadgam she acted with RaviTeja in Ee Abbayi Chala Manchodu and
with Srikanth in Pellam Vurelthe.

We got a chance to ask her few questions. The following are the excerpts.

You have acted in Telugu movies with three different names. What is your real name?

When I entered Telugu Films, there is already a senior artist by name Sangeetha. So my name has been changed. However,
I went with my real name in Khadgam and now I dont think it's a good idea to change it. Is it?

Birthday and place of Birth for our profiles section

21st October. Chennai

Educational qualifications

Completed 12th. Applied for BBA. But as I became busy with films I had to discontinue my education.

What is your first film and how many pictures have you acted so far?

My first movie is Asala Sandadi with Ali. Then Navvuthu Brathakalira with Chakravarthi and Maa Ayana Sundarayya with
Srihari. Then there was some gap. During that gap I acted in few Malayalam movies. Khadgam is like a come back into
Telugu films. I have acted in 6 movies so far.

Why films?

My family is completely into films. My grandfather K.R.Balan is a producer. He produced around 20 films. Some of my other
relatives are producers and distributors. I am used to the film sets and studios right from my childhood. I got chance
to act as child artist. My mom was against that as she thought it might disturb my education. Few producers approached us
again after they saw my arangetram pictures in the magazines. Finally my mom said yes and I am in.

You mentioned arangetram? Which classical dance was that in?

Bharatanatyam. I learnt from Dhanunjay master.

What is your favorite movie in Telugu?

Geetanjali. I love that movie. I have seen it more than 100 times. When ever it is played, I just stick there
for the entire movie.

Other hobbies?

Reading books, music, talking to friends over phone.

Do you have any brothers or sisters?

I have two brothers. One is a lecturer and the other finishing his hotel management course.

Any plans for the future?

I know what is tomorrow. So I will concentrate on that. I will not think or talk about day after tomorrow as I am not sure
of it.

If you didnot enter movies....

I would have studied further. I like accounts and commerce. I wanted to go abroad for MBA.

Do you have a criteria for accepting movies

My role, hero, director, banner and story. My criteria is atleast one of the above five.

Your current projects

One film With Dr. Rajasekhar in the direction of N.Shankar, Ori Nee Prema Bangaram ganu with singer Rajesh.

What's your role in Ori Nee Prema Bangaram ganu

It is a youthful character. Fun loving college girl role. This character has got all the shades. I am glad that I got this role.

How about N.Shankar's movie

I play the role of a very traditional girl. It's on the lines of Ramyakrishna's role in Bangaru Bullodu.

Finally, a teaser. If God comes to you and gives you a boon. What would u ask for.

I will request that God comes whenever I call him.
