It will not be an exaggeration to say that no other hero in Telugu film industry has so much of loyal fan following and
image as Krishna does. He is the superstar of Telugu Movie Industry. Krishna, who entered film industry as hero with Tenemanasulu
in 1965, is very straightforward in attitude. He is very experimental and the first
ever hero to introduce cowboy and James bond style to Telugu screen. He is very generous and kindhearted that
he helped many producers and directors taking the losses, if any, on to him.


On request of Late Sri Rajeev Gandhi, Krishna entered politics. He had some set backs in his political career. Currently
Superstar is concentrating on the small screen for a tele-serial - Annayya - directed by P.C.Reddy who has directed
many films for Krishna, earlier in his career.


TotalTollywood got to meet Superstar at his home during the shooting of Annayya.



Your innings on the movie front is long standing but not on the political front. Why was that?

After the death of Indira Gandhi, Sri Rajeev Gandhi has called me and suggested me to enter politics. After his death,
I lost interest in politics and am out of it now. Also, I felt that I was not given enough importance in the party. They
have forgotten the help that I did to the party during Rajeev's time. That really hurt my feelings.




Compare Krishna of Tenemanasulu to that of Annaya

Tenemanasulu released in 1965. It's 38 years ago. I have acted in more than 325 movies. Audience and fans who have shown
affection to me as a hero are extending the same affection and support to the serial also.
Our expectations are that Annayya will
create record as the serial with the longest run.



How comfortable are you with TV?

I have not felt any inconvenience to evaluate if I am comfortable. With serials, audience will be able to see me daily
unlike the movies that happen once a year. Viewer ship is very high as people from other states are also following
the serial.



In the past you directed few films? Are there any plans to direct again?

Acting is my first priority and profession. If I get good story line, I will think of directing again. Anyway my supervision
will be there in all aspects of cinema produced by Padmalaya films.



Padmalaya is the trademark for all the fields you enter into. Any special reason

Padma is my eldest daughter. All these constructions started only after her birth.



What is your involvement in Mahesh's career?

I don't select the characters he does. He makes his own decisions. He has established himself as a hero with grand
success of Okkadu. I am proud of him. He is capable of selecting stories that suit his image. I am not at all involved
in those aspects.




What is the secret of your glamour?

Mental satisfaction... It is highly necessary to keep yourself fit and healthy. I am not into dieting or exercises.



What is the role of Mrs. Vijayanirmala in your success?

She looks after everything personally from cooking to my health.
