"Music can never be created; it will happen; it will evolove; I am keeping my continuous efforts up in trying to realize what music is. I would have started taking rest if I know what music is already', said Maestro Ilayaraja. Ilayaraja was in town for the audio release event of Bhumika starring and Samudra directed Mallepuvvu. Ilayaraja composed music for this film. Audio of the film is released at Taj Deccan on Monday night. The event started out with paying tribute to late Sobhan Babu.
Ilayaraja further added, 'I am talking about music here because I have not completely realized what it is. Let me quote you an example. You can take a picture of a bird, load it in the computer and you can do whatever you want to do with that. You can make it look like flapping the wings, for example. But music is not computer bird. In recent days, I hear all this jargon of new music, latest music, superhit music etc. Some thing new in music can never be created. Can any one come forward and claim that they created new musical notes. Swaram and sangeetam will evolve on their own', emphasized Ilayaraja.
Talking about composing music for this film, he said, 'Ramesh Varma approached me earlier for another film. Now he came with the recommendation of Veturi. I heard the story once. I liked it and hence decided to work it out'.
Aditya audio company is releasing the audio into the market. Jayasudha released the audio and gave the first copy to Taraka Ratna. D.Suresh babu and Tammareddy released the CD.
Talking on this occassion, Jayasudha said, 'A kind of heaviness filled my heart after seeing Sobhan Babu's picture here. It reminded me of old times'. She further announced her intentions of directing a film and wished that Ilayaraja would oblige composing music for that film.
Bhumika thanked Ilayaraja for the music and expressed this film as a gift to her husband Bharat Thakur.
