Unit of Raksha met with the media at Hotel Grand Kakitya as part of film promotion. Even though story lines are the same, Raksha is different from recently released Phoonk. Raksha is directed by Akella Vamsikrishna with Jagapati Babu, Kalyani, Rajeev Kanakala, Subbaraju, Baby Neha in lead roles. Raksha will hit the theaters on 19th of this month.
Vamsikrishna said, 'One and only legend is Ramgopal Varma. I feel lucky to be directing a film for his banner. Ramgopal Varma is known for his style of film making. There is no one to break his style. I am very very happy that he saw my film and complimented that I made the film better than him. I was introduced to Varma by Subbaraju. I went as a writer but turned director. From my experience, I can now say that first film directors should attempt a horror film because there is lot of scope to learn'.
'When Varma told me about the film, I asked him if such films are necessary required for me. He said I am apt for the film. And then Vamsi narrated the story. He narrated in his own style and I was really impressed. I am doing an atheist in the film who later starts believing in after some strange things happen around me. I dont believe such things in real life but did that in the film. The main characters of the film are blackmagic and Baby Neha who played Raksha in the film. I come the third. I guess I am the only kind in the industry not caring for the image when doing characters', said Jagapati babu.
Subbaraju said, 'There is a good message in the film. Jayasudha is playing a key role and that is the character that delivers the message. I know Vamsi as writer. He then turned director. I was surprised initially to know that he is getting a break as director in Varma banner. I am sure the film will be received well all over'.
Chandrasekhar said,'After trying for several years to act in Varma banner, I gave up. And then out of blue, I get a casting call. I have very little dialogs in the film. This is a different role for me'.
