Please, do not buy ANY KAD DVD without the correct hologram on the cover. 18 February He is "Thikka" Vamsi - Sirivennela Talking about the creative director Krishnavamsi, Sirivennela commented that "you all call him Krishnavamsi, I refer to him as thikka Vamsi". He said this in a light note referring to Krishnavamsi's non-compromising attitude. As told by Sitarama Sastry in the audio release function of Chakram, Sita Ramasastry penned a poem about 30 years ago that is used in this film - "Jagamantha Kutumbam naadhi.. ekaki jeevitham nadhi". Infact, the film is inspired by this song, says Sitarama Sastry. Sitarama Sastry didnot intend this as a song, but Krishnavamsi wanted it to be the song. Aditya music released the audio into the market. The audio function was organized quite novel. Instead of the regular speech and song screenings, the unit decided to do it in a different style making the event more entertaining. Steps leading to the dias are decorated with Chakram logo. Event started with Jogi brothers skit that mimic'ed Krishnavamsi's films. The mannerism they used "Cut chesthey...blood" is hillarious. Following the initial skit, Brahmanandam, AVS, Venu Madhav, Srinivasa Reddy, Chitram Srinu got on to the stage and started a new program - interviewing the unit. They started out with Chakri. Release date of Sravanamasam was announced today as 26th Feb in a pressmeet held at Posani Krishnamurali's office. In the pressmeet he announced that people who saw the film on the first 10 days (starting from 26th) should retain their ticket stubs. Fire accident in Subash Chandrabose set! As per the report, there was a fire accident in the sets erected by Vyjanathi Films banner at Vuravakallu, Kurnool. This set is an expensive one and erected for Venkatesh starrer Subash Chandrabose. The fire accident occured on saturday evening around 5:30 PM. The set consisted of a fort and a village. Atleast 12 huts in the village settings went down in this accident. Few cameras, air coolers and other equipment in the sets also turned to ash. Balakrishna innocent in shootout case Balakrishna was given clean chit in the shootout case filed against him in June of last year. Apparently when the case was filed, Satyanarayana Chowdary and Bellamkonda Suresh told the police that it is NBK who opened fire on them. Later on when the case went to court, the say of the two changed. They said that it is not NBK but some fan started firing. Police filed case on NBK, and his wife Vasundhara in this case. Nampalli metropolitan magistrate gave a verdict that NBK and Vasundhara are innocent since the police failed to comeup with solid proof. Magistrate also rejected the appeal to defer the hearing until the case is handed over to CBI. The numbers took the exhibitors by surprise. From the official sources of KAD Entertainments USA, the stats for the first day(28th) screening are as follows. San Jose (475), Dallas (285), Detriot (300. 150 people went back without tickets), Virginia (550 - only 1 show), New Jersey (650). A total of 2260 people watched the film on day 1 in USA. Interesting thing here is, of the 2260 about 1000 tickets were sold on internet through online ticketing system on www.secondshows.com. In New Jersey, the exhibitors couldnot believe the turnout. For the 10 PM show, Hindi film screening Kisna of Subash Ghai's was cancelled and two screens were interlocked for Nuvvostanante film to accomodate the crowds. This interlocking was done around 9:15 PM and by 10:00 PM both theaters turned out full. Noted actor Amrish Puri passed away Renowned Bollywood actor Amrish Puri passed away at Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai on Wednesday. As per the reports, he suffered brain haemorrhage. Amrish Puri, who is remembered as Moghambo for the role he played in Mr. India, entered the film industry in 1971. He acted in many roles, mosty negative ones until the mid 90s. He did lot of character roles also after that. Amrish Puri also acted as villain in heavy budget films in Telugu including Kondaveeti Donga, Jagadekga Veerudu Athiloka Sundari and more. Amrish Puri also did Hollywood film. He acted in Steven Spielberg's Indiana Jones and The temple of doom. Amrish Puri is 72 and is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter.
