30th July Allu Ramalingayya passes away Veteran comedian Allu Ramalingayya passed away around the midnight on Friday (early hours of Saturday) in Global Hospital. According to the sources, Allu Ramalingayya sustained an injury a few weeks ago, when he fell down in the bathroom. He was getting treatment in the Apollo hospital. He was joined in Global hosiptal later on. Allu Ramalingayya is the father of renowned producer Allu Aravind and is the father-in-law of Chiranjeevi. His death is a great loss to the Telugu Film Industry. May his soul rest in peace. Neelakanta, Venu film titled - "Sada Nee Sevalo" S.P.Entertainments launched a film titled "Sadha mee sevalo" with Venu in the lead. Shooting of this film started today at Film Nagar Temple. Case filed against director Teja A case was filed against director Teja for manhandling one of his crew members. According to the sources, during the shooting of the film Dhairyam, Teja slapped an artist - Naveen Reddy. It is heard that this incident occured on 23rd of this month. Apparently, Teja lost his temper when Naveen Reddy could not perform to the expectation. A case was filed against Teja regarding the same with the police of Chatrinaka, who registered the complaint under the sections 506 and 324. It is heard that Gowtham, director of Venkatesh starrer Gharshana, will direct the Hindi version of the same. The original film - Khakha Khakha - in tamil has Surya in the lead role playing a serious cop. The film created records at the box office. Now it is being remade in Telugu with Venkatesh in the lead as Gharashana. Gita Chitra Internationals banner is making it in Telugu. It didnot end there. Confusion, mediation prevails in the shoot out case As things are not clear, each one experiencing a different side of it, there is confusion prevailing on the whole issue involved with the shoot out at Balakrishna's office. Nothing is coming out concrete. Seems that people have stepped in to carry out the mediation. Both Bellamkonda Suresh and Satyanarayana Chowdary are out of danger and are in conscious state. However, both decided to defer to give statement until tomorrow. Bigwigs of film industry have visited Balakrishna. Lakshmi Parvathi also paid a visit to Balakrishna and spent almost 25 minutes talking to him. After that she met up with the chief minister to discuss about the situation. ANR also visited Balakrishna. But said that he is still unconscious. Harikrishna and Chandrababu Naidu also visited Balakrishna. Initially, police sources said that arrest is inevitable. The sources also maintained that case might be transferred to CBCID. However, Chief Minister Y.S.Rajasekhar Reddy saw no need for that. Balakrishna's wife joined in hospital Giving the "shoot out at Balakrishna's house", a new twist, Balakrishna's wife has joined in CARE hospital, says sources. According to the sources, the two revolvers recovered from Balakrishna's house are licensed. One is registered on his name and the other on his wife's name. However, the revolver that is believed to be used in this shoot out is on Balakrishna's wifes' name. She might be also taken into the custody, says the sources. NBK's wife is presently admitted into the CARE hospital for health reasons. NTR's son - Saikrishna passed away NTR's second son Sai Krishna passed away on the morning of the 4th. Hero Balakrishna got admitted into CARE hospitals one hour after that. It is believed that the shoot out took place in the office of Balakrishna. Balakrishna's house was seized. Cook and the driver are taken into custody for interrogation. But they turned to be of no help, says the sources. Sources maintain the possibility of police filing a case under 307 section. Also, 2 revolvers were recovered from Balakrishna's house. CARE doctors announced that Balakrishna will be discharged by today evening. Though the shooting is over, post-production of the film is taking up time. Digital Grading techniques are being used for the film. Digital Grading is the technique through which color manipulation / correction can be done to set the contrast, brightness, saturation etc of the frame / scene. This makes the blending of the special effects and miniatures, a visual delight. Sri Anjaneyam is the first south Indian film to use the technique. Film is titled - Railu Bandi. 29th April J.V.Somayajulu passed away Noted actor J.V.Somayajulu passed away in the CARE hospital, on Tuesday, 27th of April. He was suffering with respiratory related problems for quite sometime. J.V.Somayajulu, also recognized by Telugu audience as Sankarabharanam Sankara Sastry, did lot of stage plays before entering the film industry. His first film is Ra Ra Krishnayya. However, he shot to recognition with the film Sankarabharanam, directed by K.Viswanath. J.V.Somayajulu gave life to many characters which included his roles in Vamsavriksham, Saptapadi, Swathimutyam, Nelavanka, Vijetha, Thyagayya and other films. J.V.Somayajulu is 76 years old and is survived by his wife, two songs and a daughter. May his soul rest in peace. Nani and Adaviramudu postponed!! Mahesh starrer Nani and Prabhas starrer Adaviramudu are to release in the first week of May. However, the industry sources say that both the films are moved towards the second half of the May. Nani, which was in production for sometime, was to release on 6th May. The release is now moved to 21st of May, as the re-recording of the film is yet to complete. AdaviRamudu was also to release in the first week of May. However, it is also moved to after 14th of May. Graphics related work seemed to have pushed the date. Venkatesh rescues Asin in boat accident Victory Venkatesh is shooting in Srilanka for his upcoming film Khakha Khakha in the direction of Gautham. Ashin is the heroine of the film. It is learnt that a boat travelling with 13 crew members including Venkatesh, Asin and stunt master Vijayan, took a dip in the river. According to the sources, Venkatesh reacted timely and helped Asin, Vijayan and others reach the shore safely. No one was hurt in the incident. Tollywood lost a STAR - Soundarya is no more In an unfortunate event that took place this morning, Actress Soundarya was killed. She was on her way to Karimnagar to participate in the election canvasing for BJP. The private 4 seater plane, provided by Agni Aviation, crashed within minutes after taking off from Bangalore airport. The crash happened around the Jekkur Aerodrome. In the plane were also - Amarnath (Soundary's brother), Ramesh (BJP candidate). The pilot was also killed in this incident. All the passengers were burnt to ashes in the crash. Soundarya is her screen name. Her given name is Sowmya. She entered the film industry through Gandharva, a Kannada film. She stepped into Telugu films through Raithu Bharatam. Following Rajendrudu Gajendrudu, there was no looking back for her. She acted with all the top heroes and went onto reign the industry as the leading actress. She also won many awards for her performances. She acted in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi films. Soundarya was married to a software engineer from Bangalore in the April of 2003. Katrina's story began. She debuted into Tollywood through Malleswari. Even while Malleswari was in production, two more films were almost confirmed for her. One with Nagarjuna and the other with Prabhas. Nagarjuna's film is in the direction of Lawrenece and titled "Mass..Dhammunte Kasuko'. Though it is yet to be confirmed, it is heard that Katrina Kaif is not in the project any more. Reasons immaterial. Jyothika is one heroine. Another heroine, from Bollywood, might get into "Mass", says sources. Is Katrina ruled out from the project? We will have to wait and see. Because this is not the first time this has happened. S.S.Rajamouli - Prabhas film producer - B.V.S.N.Prasad It is reliably learnt that S.S.Rajamouli will direct Prabhas for a complete mass film to be produced B.V.S.N.Prasad. B.V.S.N. Prasad will produce this film on Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra films. Earlier he produced Ee Abayi Chala Manchodu with Raviteja on the same banner. Keeravani is roped in to compose music for this film. If everything goes according to the schedule, film will takeoff in September. Prabhas's Adavi Ramudu will release in April. Following that Prabhas has Krishnavamsi and Gauthams' films in pipeline. S.S.Rajamouli is presently working on Nitin starrer Sayi. 28th March Keeravani to compose for Prabhas - Krishnavamsi Melody Music-Director M.M.Keeravani is roped in to compose music for Krishnavamsi's film, which has Prabhas in the lead. Gita Chitra pictures' Sivaraju and Venkatraju are producing this film. Regular shooting of this film is yet to start. Expected is that the schedules will start from the second week of April. This is the first time Keeravani will compose music for Krishnavamsi. Sasi Preetam, Sandeep Chowta, Sri, Devisri Prasad, Ilayaraja and Manisharma are among the composers, who gave music to Krishnavamsi's films earlier. At present, KrishnaVamsi is busy shooting in Hampi for his upcoming film Sri Anjaneyam starring Nitin. Songs shooting is going on for this film, which is in its final schedule. Though audio release date is not confirmed yet, sources say that Sri Anjaneyam will release on 5th of May. Jyothika with Nagarjuna in "Mass" Through reliable sources - Jyothika will join Nagarjuna on the sets of "Mass.. Dhammunte Kasuko" as a heroine. Renowned Choreographer Lawerence turns director with this film. Katrina Kaif, it is heard, is also there in the film. The film started off without much publicity in the third week of March. After completing a few days of shoot on 26th of March, the unit will continue with schedules from the third week of April. The film was officially launched on the day of Ugadi, begninning of Telugu New Year. The event took place at Annapoorna Studios. ANR gave the clap and Suresh Babu switched on the camera. First shot was directed by Vijaya Bhaskar. This film is a remake of Tamil super hit film Tirumalai. Ramana, who directed Ela Cheppanu for Sravanthi Films, will direct this venture too. Regular shooting will start from 24th of this month. Koti will compose 6 songs for this film out of which 2 will be shot abroad. V.N.Aditya - Udaykiran film to start on 25th Udaykiran was to do the role of a soldier for Visalakshi Films. This film was started with Yeleti Chandra Sekhar as the director. Due to various reasons, the film was shelved. Giving the story and the production a new turn, it is heard that, V.N.Aditya will direct Udaykiran now. Though the film was planned to restart on Ugadi, the date is now moved to 25th. Earlier, V.N.Aditya and Uday Kiran worked for Manasantha Nuvve. The new production will start with a fresh story, says sources. Veeri Veeri Gummadipandu audio on 30th March Sriram Balaji is directing this variety titled film Veeri Veeri Gummadi Pandu, for his own production. He wants to keep the casting a secret until the audio release. He was successful in maintaining it. The audio release date is confirmed as 30th March. The cast will be revealed on that day. Netaji is the director. 15th March Balakrishna injured in Jodhpur Nandamuri Balakrishna is injured while shooting in Jodhpur for Aditya Productions films, according to the news that reached here. The unit of Aditya Productions, film directed by Swarna Subba Rao, is shooting at Jodhpur from 11th March. Climax scenes are in progress at this location in Rajasthan. Balakrishna sustained injuries when he jumped from a height without using any dupe. He was checked into a hospital for checkup. Balakrishna will need to take rest upto 2 weeks. He is back in Hyderabad. We wish him a speedy recovery. Taking shield from Chiru is enough for this life: Sivaji "I am very happy accepting the shield from Chiranjeevi. This is enough for my life", said Sivaji, accepting the 100 days shield from Chiranjeevi - for Sivaji, Bhumika and Laya starrer Missamma. I dont know who will win the elections but India will definitely come out with the winning trophy from Pakistan and in Andhra Pradesh, Nenunnanu is bound to create the success wave. I am not even a bit skeptical regarding that bee-period and we will release the film, as scheduled, on 7th April itself.". These are the words of Nagarjuna, during the audio release function of his upcoming film Nenunnanu. The function took place amidst the fans at Silpa kalavedhika. It is the level of confidence that Nagarjuna has, who is not usually concerned about records or centers. As quoted by hero Sumanth, Nagarjuna finished one hatrick with Sivamani and Nenunnanu is the start for the second hatrick. Is Media hurting the producer's dynamics? Few recent incidents raised some concerns about the association of the media and the film makers. Two movie magazines, in the main stream, experienced the irk of producers and directors. "Writing frankly is not an issue here. But the remarks added to the writing is what is more bothering", says a close associate of a leading producer cum director, who decided to sue the magazine for its degrading remarks about him which ranged to even suggesting him to take the help of a psychiatrist. He is definitely not alone in this league. He is quickly joined by another director, who experienced a similar situation. "There is a stiff competetion among the magazines. Websites join this wagon too. Inorder to provide some spicy news, the media is writing some things which need not really go into public", is a journalist's opinion, "Though this is prevailing in the market for quite some time, it is now that it turned ugly". In the last few days, a leading producer is believed to have filed a case against one magazine which reportedly leaked some sensitive information. Though the dynamics of the loss/gain is known to the producer, it took no time for the news to get into the computer media too. Well, the media reserves their right to publish what they believe is authentic and film makers dont want the media to get into their personal life or make some really derogatory remarks on them or publish articles that might impact their business. With these latest two issues filed before the producers council, it is to be seen if the council comes up with any tangible solution to keep away such things from repeating. Aryan, Sada - Film titled "Leelamahal Center" Medha media productions film, with Aryan and Sada in the lead, is titled "Leelamahal Center". In a very interesting manner, the makers decided to announce the title of the film near Leelamahal Theater in Hyderabad. Ofcourse, the unit is shooting around the location too. Telugu film industry lost it's voice - "Kalavachaspathi" Jagayya passed away during the early hours of Friday, 5th March, at Miyat hospital in Chennai. Kongara Jagayya, born on 31st December of 1928, hails from Guntur District. A freedom fighter, writer, reader - Jagayya worked as a teacher in History and English. Jagayya, who was actively involved in the stage plays, was introduced to film industry by Tripuraneni Gopichand through the film Priyuralu. After that Jagayya established himself as one of the leading actors in Telugu film industry. He acted in more than 500 films as the leading hero, comedian and character artist. He also introduced Savitri and Jamuna. Superstar Krishna played a small role in one of his films "Padandi Mundhuku". Later on, Jagayya elegantly portrayed Rutherford role in Krishna's Alluri Sitarama Raju. His diction and soothing voice earned him Kalavachaspathi. He even dubbed for Thespian Sivaji Ganeshan. Jagayya had a good pinch for literature. He translated Ravindranath Tagore's poetry into Telugu as Ravindra Geetha. Being a socialist follower, Jagayya joined congress. He is the first Film personality to be elected to Lok Sabha. He was elected in 1967 from Ongole. He is a great social worker. He was a part of the Artists association, when he worked on financial upliftment of veteran actors. An elegant actor with good taste for literature, philosophy and politics, Jagayya is invaluable to Telugu film industry. His death is a great loss to the Film Industry. May his soul rest in peace. Prabhas, Krishna Vamsi film started Krishnavamsi speaks through his work. He never cared for pubilicity. He kept himself away from that. Though Krishnavamsi's name came out in the combination of big heros in the media, in recent times, it was a break to all of the assumptions when it was confirmed that his next project would be with Prabhas for Burugupalli Sivaramakrishna. More surprising is that, the film is already launched without any hype or even publicity. Sources say that Pooja, formal launch of a film, was conducted on 28th of February. Hero Prabhas could not participate in that as he was shooting for Friendly Movies film in the direction of B.Gopal. The same sources maintain that the regular shooting of the film will start from 9th of April. This is not new for Krishnavamsi's project. It was almost the same thing with Sri Anajaneyam launch. Sri Anjaneyam is in the final stages of production. Well! As mentioned earlier, Krishnavamsi believes in talking through the projects and not in the launch and pressmeet publicity. Aditya Productions film with NBK in Climax shooting Recently, Nandamuri Balakrishna launched an exciting project - Narthanasala. After the pooja muhurtham, the unit continued shooting for 5 continous days. Now Balakrishna, who set the box office at rage as Laskhmi Narasimha (publicity shows the film is running in 277 centers for 50 days), is off to Jodhpur. Climax for Konda Krishnamraju's film, in the direction of Swarna Subbarao, is in progress. The unit will travel around Rajasthan, Kashmir, Indore and Haridwar in a schedule that will start from 7th march. Among the songs, only 2 are in balance to be pictured. Film might release for summer. I want to act with Chiru: Ravali From nowhere, Ravali became the focus of the media, all of a sudden. She came on some live TV shows, pressmeets and newspaper columns. What is this all about? Ravali moved to Hyderabad. Earlier she lived in Chennai. She made a complete move to Hyderabad, to make herself available for the industry. Ravali, at one point, was almost rising when she did films like Pelli Sandadi, Vinodam etc. She acted with big heroes also. Suddenly she was out of loop for a while and now she is trying to make a come back - being in touch with the industry. Ravali says that her dream is to act with Megastar Chiranjeevi. Reasons cited - A.R.Rehman couldnot finish his compositions for the film in time. Nani, which is believed to be loosely based on Tom Hanks "Big", has Amisha Patel sharing the screen with Mahesh Babu. S.J.Surya, director of Kushi, is the director. Through very reliable sources, it is heard that Nani audio is all set to release on 25th March. Shooting part is almost completed. The plans are to release the film on 28th April. From the beginning of this year, media kept guessing the audio release date. It is to be seen if this date will work out or registers as an another guess. And also, Arjun is scheduled to release for 31st May, birthday of Superstar Krishna. Both Arjun and Nani are coming from home productions - Nani is produced by Manjula and Arjun by Ramesh Babu. With in a slot of 1 month frame, release of two big budget movies of the same hero is usually not followed. We have to wait and see! Raviteja - S.Gopal Reddy - Suresh: Autograph remake Bellamkonda Suresh acquired the remake rights of three films. The cast and crew for one of the remakes - titled Autograph in Tamil - is coming out and this is the first film, of the three remakes, to go onto the sets. Raviteja is roped in to play the lead. S.Gopal Reddy, who is noted cinematographer and owns Bhargav Arts, will direct this venture. This is the first film for S.Gopal Reddy as the director. It is heard that though S.Gopal Reddy wanted to debut as a director through Durga Arts, in which he is a part along with K.L.Narayana, he is all set to go with this remake. 4 heriones will act in this remake. Bhoomika is confirmed as one heroine. The other three are yet to be decided. M.M.Keeravani, Nandi Award winner, will compose music for this film, which is expected to be launched on 18th of March. NTR, B.Gopal film for 2005 Sankranthi Even though NTR is working on 3 films at present, he is maintaining a low profile. Samba - directed by V.V.Vinayak and produced by Kodali Nani, Giri producing another film in the direction of Mullapudi Vara and B.Gopal directs NTR for the third one to be produced by Chengala Venkat Rao. Though the recording for Chengala Venkat Rao's film started already, the regular shooting will start from 5th April. NTR is planning with a festive thought. Interestingly, Trisha and Genelia duo is becoming popular as they are already announced in more than 3 films by now. 1st March Mohan Babu's new film launched In the story discussions for more than a month, Mohan Babu's new film, to be produced by his home production banner taking the count of films produced by this banner to 40, was launched yesterday in Ramanaidu studios at Nanakram Guda. Kapuganti Rajendra directs this film. Rajendra is not a new acquaintance to Mohan Babu. Rajendra is in the direction crew, co-director to be precise, of Mohan Babu's blockbuster film Peda Rayudu. Rajendra is going to project Mohan Babu in a new dimension in this film. For the first time, Mohan Babu will appear as a Buddhist monk, with a clean shaved head. Though nothing much is told about the story, except that it has all the ingredients of a commercial film, pick of the locations does. Belukuppa, one of the Buddhist places near Mysore, is one of the shooting locations on the schedule. Soundarya and Natanya Singh play the heroines. The dream project of Balakrishna is launched in a grand way at Ramoji Film City. Based on the "Narthanasala" episode from Mahabharatam, (media already refers to this project as Narthanasala), Balakrishna is directing this mythological film. Lakshmi Priya pictures Poosapati Lakshmipathi Raju is producing this film. Balakrishna plays triple role in this film viz. Arjuna, Bruhanalla, and Keechaka. Srihari will prove his "muscle" as Bhima. Sarat Babu, Vijay, Navven will play Dharmaraja, Nakula and Sahadeva. Soundarya will play the Droupadhi. It is heard that Kameswara Rao will provide some guidance in terms of the script. Also Maharadhi, Paruchuri Brothers and Nagabhairava Koteswara Rao will work on the script for this film. Legendary Actor NTR, who also happens to be the father of Nandamuri Balakrishna, has always been a source of inspiration for Balakrishna. This brings in a lot of confidence in Balakrishna, who holds the uniqueness in having done all kinds of films viz. mythological, social, folklore and Sci-fi. For this venture, Balakrishna wants to make sure that all the obstacles are crossed and also the output should be in a perfect shape. Hence he is handling the direction himself. Balakrishna is also penning the dialogues for this film. Madhavapedhi Suresh and Veturi will provide the music and the lyrics. V.S.R.Swamy will handle the camera, Raju to compose action sequences and Siva, Shankar will choreograph. Udaykiran, K.Viswanath, Asin, Sangeetha, Krishna Bhagawan and Kota Srinivasa Rao play other important roles. Meena with Harikrishna in Swamy Krishna Teja productions launched their new film with Harikrishna in the lead. Meena is roped in to play the herione.
