Story

After giving a hilarious hit Hyderabad Nawabs, producer RK brought out another decent entertainer Fun Aur Masti for the Hyderabadi folks with its peculiar Hindi. However, this film doesn't hold any comparison to Hyderabad Nawabs.

Johnny (Aziz) is a quake in the streets of Hyderabad, while his friend Hussain dreams of becoming an MF Hussain, but works on hoardings. David (RK) is the CI at Afzalgunj PS and has a sister Rosy (Payal). Johnny and Rosy love each other and wait for the right opportunity to get married. David, though a strict officer, is like a cat before his wife (Satya Krishnan). Gullu Bhai (debut actor) is a miserly local dada and thinks himself as a powerful mafia don. Johnny and Hussain become the victims of Gullu. How they retaliate and how it affects David forms the hilarious comedy.

It is one Gullu who played a good game as a local dada. RK appears as a henpecked husband but his original charm as he displayed it in Hyd.. Nawabs is very much missing. Aziz and his friend Hussain performed well. Debut heroine Payal Sarkar is cute. Satya appears as a rough and tough wife to RK and enlivened the screen whenever she appeared.

Johnny imitating the voices of Amitabh, Shah Rukh, Nana Patekar and Dharmender, is a good watch. Gullu's characterisation is a major asset to the film.

The story has some freshness and it is totally screenplay-based film. Though its a small budget film, the production values are good and convincing on a par with any Bollywood flick. Dialogues by RK are a major highlight and would thrill the local guys in Hyderabad.

Direction by Sekhar Surya is good, but has lost the grip in the second half but maintained the tempo again in the climax. Screenplay is fast and will not bore you much. Comedy is good and decent. You do not have even a single scene with vulgarity. Cinematography is superb. However, some of the scenes though intend to tickle the audiences have failed to create the desired impact. There are just two full length songs while others are just bit numbers. Music is good. RR is convincing. The item song by Mumaith Khan is a good watch. Usually, Mumaith provides oomph on the screen. But here, she looked decent and professional.

Fun Aur Masti is a bold attempt by RK, promoting the new linguistic experiment on Hyderabadi Hindi. The film has ample entertainment to the targeted group, while not much for the general audiences.
