Movie Review : /5

After directing Mass and Style, Lawrence is back as director with Muni. He also played lead. As a director and actor, Lawrence scores good. The movie however is good in pieces. In total, it is okay.
Ganesh (Lawrence) is a coward. He is afraid even to go out to bathroom after dark. Such a person is taken over by a spirit. Though his parents get tantrik's help to get rid of the spirit, Ganesh decides to help the spirit. Why did the spirit get into Ganesh? Why did Ganesh decide to help the spirit and what did the spirit wanted to do? Watch the film on silver screen.
Lawrence is successful in merging all ingredients - horror, comedy, action, emotions and dances in right portions. 4-5 scary scenes are done very well. Also he proves himself as an actor. He shows striking difference between the two
characters - innocent as coward and horrifying as spirit. Dances are good. Vedika is good in her role. She scores well with glamor than with her performance. She is good in dances. Rajkiran as Muniraj is good in his role. Rahul Dev, Nazar, Dandapani are good in her roles.
Technically, screenplay is okay. Lawrence did his best in keeping tight screenplay. Muni emotional episode is also handled
well. However, the emotions and comedy are exaggerated a bit. Such scenes make it feel like a Tamil film. Music by Ramani
Bharadwaj is good. Dialogs by Sasank are good. Suresh Ars did an excellent job with editing.
In parts, the film is good. In totality, something feels amiss. Movie begins with good pace. After the first half hour, movie lacks pace until the interval break. The film picks up again in the second half but fails with tempo as the film goes towards climax. A twist in the climax changes the impression on the climax. In a way, the film oscillates between being interesting and boring.
